Laboratory Approval, Correlation & Evaluation

The LACE scheme was introduced in 1998 after many years of separate textile-testing laboratory approval schemes for particular retailers.

With the development of more universally acceptable test methods for textiles, most UK retailers have moved towards the adoption of these methods for the performance assessment of textile merchandise. This means that approval of textile testing, covering several retailers, can now be achieved in a single visit, clearly reducing both the cost and time spent.

One of the requirements of LACE approval is participation in TEPS.
